ALIGAL™ 12 is a gas mixture composed of 80% Nitrogen E941 and 20% E290 CO2 gas, compliant with food regulations and with the following characteristics. 

80% Nitrogen - N2 - E941 gas

  • Nitrogen is an inert and Odorless gas

  • It’s little soluble in water and fats

  • No direct bacteriological and fungistatic effects 

  • N2 prevents the oxidation phenomenon of pigments, aromas and / or fats on food 

  • It limits the development of aerobic bacteria 

  • It protects the products against crushing 

  • Nitrogen has no direct bacteriological and fungistatic effects 

20% Carbon dioxyde - CO2 - E290 gas

  • CO2 is bacteriostatic and fungistatic from a certain level, very soluble in water and fats

  • CO2 slows down the growth and multiplication rate of the aerobic bacteria and of the fungi 

  • It provides a pseudo vacuum effect to tension the foil after packaging.
